Golden Opportunity for our Top 2009 Pick

6

There aren’t many golden opportunities in today’s rugged stock market environment but China has provided us with a big one. Don’t just take our word for it. Listen to the words of our newest stock buy’s chairman or take a look at the markets’ reaction.

In Hong Kong, Shanghai and New York, stock markets are reacting enthusiastically to the approval of 3G telephone technology for China’s wireless carriers. This telecommunications chairman says the development of China’s third-generation (3G) mobile telecommunications network service will enter a “golden time” despite the gloomy industrial situation worldwide.

He expects diversified customer demand through the enormous capabilities of 3G technology offered to almost one billion telephone users in China. That means more revenue through the expansion of high-speed services, including faster data downloads, allowing cell phone users to make video calls and watch TV programs. Many Chinese customers already use their cell phones for Internet access rather than spend money on personal computers.

Investors agree. Hong Kong opened the New Year up strongly with high expectations for expansion among Chinese telecom companies. Shanghai is up more than 3% today as investors hailed the approval of 3G technology.

In New York, this ADR is up almost 5% today and more than 7% since we first recommended a buy to China Stock Digest subscribers in our January first newsletter and buying bulletins.

As the company’s chairman wrote in a Chinese magazine, “Although the world economy is undergoing a tough time amid the widespread financial crisis, and the telecommunications industry faces great uncertainty, we still expect vast opportunities.”

With a million new customers just last month, the reasons for investor optimism about our recommended buy is, as the company execs says, a tangible golden opportunity.

In case you missed the January 2009 issue of China Stock Digest, we have issued new buy alerts. This innovative telecommunications company is a strong buy. The buy up to price is $13.50 with a target sell price of $25.00. 1. Thanks for this useful post. I’ll watch out for my inbox. :D

I’m an investor in Media G3 – MDGC – that has approval to do business China and is tasked with participating in bringing Broadband to the rural markets in China. mg3 wireless doesn’t directly compete with 3G, but with LMDS broadwireless. They are certified by the chinese government.

Do you see any comparison or competition between MDGC and your top pick ?

  3. admin says:

We don’t follow or have analysis on Media G3 (MDGC) as we only follow China-based companies. Without any insight into your particular company or its technology we would offer only the following caution. The Chinese government has developed its own home-grown 3G technology and is heavily invested in and biased towards the exclusive use of this particular technology. We would be very wary of any promises or even contracts (short of cash in the bank) for any outside firm using any competing technology, however compatible. If your firm uses the homegrown Chinese 3G standard then our concerns would be greatly lessened.

  4. This is interesting news. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like China really is going to recover this year, as announced by the World Bank. I also found an interesting subject that I want to share that concerns China – http://www.topemployers.co.uk/teb/finance-jobs/NY_Wang/1/China-Banking-Jobs-for-Blue-Ocean-Strategists.htm

  5. China hides huge business opportunities!
It is necessary to take advantage of it.

  6. China will certainly recover this year. I hope they will help the world to recover as well. They have all the reserves to do so.
